JoinBiz is harnessing the passion, creativity and experience of our people who to look for new ways to expand our existing portfolio of expos and festivals both locally and to other areas of New South Wales.

The JoinBiz team has been together since 2006 and, each year in the Northern Beaches region, our people service over 300 exhibitors while our marketing campaign reaches more than 100,000 local businesses and homes, attracting more than 15,000 visitors annually to our combined events.

We offer a wealth of experience in organising large scale events. Our team comprises experts in the fields of creating, selling, managing, marketing and operating of specialist community activities.

Harris Tamaaiono – Director/Sales Manager/Operations Manager

JoinBiz founder and team leader, Harris Tamaaiono brings to the company skills acquired in a variety of industries including fast food management, pharmaceuticals and building. He also brings to his role the innate tenacity and commitment he possessed as a champion basketballer for the New Zealand Schoolboys representative team.

Harris began his career while still at school working his way up through the McDonald’s traineeship program to the role of First Assistant Manager. From there he moved on to spend six years at Indoplas Pharmaceuticals where he held management responsibility for Quality Control and implementation of QA ISO 2001 certification for the organisation’s Sterilisation Division.  In the 1990s, having been certified as a builder, Harris formed his own company, Home Made Transformations specialising in decks, renovations and extensions.

He joined Display Networks in 2006 bringing his unique mix of business management, building and project management skills to the event organiser.  He established JoinBiz  in 2011 to expand to other areas of New South Wales and take advantage of new opportunities, new possibilities and new challenges within the industry.

Mellanie Tamaaiono – Account Administrator/Client Support Manager

Melanie Tamaaiono is a qualified bookkeeper responsible for supplier and exhibitor account management and client support.  She has been an integral part of the expo team since 2006.

Melanie was formerly Practice Manager for a Medical Centre and brings to JoinBiz a strong background in quality control, customer service, office practices and front office management.

Vanessa Nguyen-Beatham – Event/Marketing Manager 

Vanessa joined the expo team in 2012, bringing to the talent mix more than 25 years of experience in both television/film prodution and marketing/events management.

For JoinBiz, she is responsible for the management and marketing of the Expo.

Vanessa is widely traveled, and has worked overseas, bringing to Joinbiz, her experiences and skills.

Maggie Jacka – Marketing Communications Consultant

As principal of JackaMac Marketing Communications, Maggie has been working with the JoinBiz team since 2009 promoting events.  She has vast experience in the advertising, publishing and public relations industries and has developed a strong network of media contacts throughout Australia. In the past decade she has developed and implemented Strategic Public Relations plans for consumer and trade events including ABC Gardening Australia Expos, Sydney and Melbourne Travel XPOs, JAA Australia Jewellery Fairs, Canberra and Perth Family Pet Expos and AutoEquip Exhibition and Convention among others. She also publicised Nelson Bay Town Management’s 2010 Blue Water Country Music Festival, Festival of the Sea and Tastes at the Bay Jazz, Wine Food Festival.  Maggie is a member and sponsor of Pittwater Business Limited and promotes its seminars through local media.

Your Northern Beaches Expo

Our first show, the 2008 Northern Beaches Double Expo comprised a Home & Garden and All Woman Expo. It was an instant hit.

Local business owners outside of these markets were keen to become involved and, as a result, additional expos have been added to the event each year since then.

In 2009, we launched the Outdoor Adventure Expo and, in 2010, the Retired Life Expo was added to the mix.

In 2011, in addition to the four established expos – Home Show, All Woman, Outdoor Adventure and Retired Life – we introduced the Local Community Services Arena where visitors could meet with and hear about the operations of our local community service heroes.

Through evolution, the Northern Beaches Expo has become the biggest event of its type in the region and, reflecting its popularity with the local community is now called Your Northern Beaches Expo.

Diversification builds experience

Besides Northern Beaches Expo, our team also organised the She Festival and the Summer Festival.

She Festival is a celebration of music, art, fashion and chocolate which was created as a spin-off event capitalising on the popularity of the All Woman Expo.   It features a Fashion Pavilion, Shopping Arena, Art & Craft Pavilion, Food Court, Live Entertainment stages, bar facilities and Moonlight Cinema.

We are now building for the future under the JoinBiz banner.   In 2012, we plan to add a Pet Expo to our show portfolio.
